Happy Dashain 

 One of the great festivals of Nepali people is the festival, Vijaya Dashami, which is equally important in the mythology. According to the mythic (Hindu scriptures) belief that the demon Mahishasura created terror among the gods. After that, a terrible war started. It is found that the war between the Goddess and the Rakshasa lasted from the day of (Ghatasthapana) to the day of Dashain . From the first day of Vijaya Dashami to the tenth day, different ten goddesses are worshipped. of which

1. Shailaputri
2. Brahmacharini
3. Chandraghanta
4. Kushmanda
5. Skandamata
6. Katyayani
7. Kaalaratri
8. Mahagauri
9. Siddhidhatri

Also, Vijaya Dashami is considered a symbol of victory.Bada dashain begins with Ghatasthapana. Ghatastapana, Phulpati, Astami, Navami and Dashain are celebrated on Vijaya Dashami.

  First Day (घटस्थापना ) :- 

It is customary to keep Jamra on Ghatasthaphana day. On this day, people wake up early in the morning to keep the house clean, worship room, and remove cobwebs. On this day, the Bali Kalash given in the shrine is purified by filling it with holy water.

 After that, a clean place is found in the place of worship and sand and earthen grains are put in a bowl on that place and barley seeds and corn seeds are sprinkled on it. The puja begins with the priest filling the kalash on the side with water. 

Puja is performed at that place in the morning and evening and a quantity of water is sprinkled at that place. By doing this, within ten days, the jamra will grow to five and six inches long. Which we call Jamra.

 Seventh Day Phulpati :-

At the beginning of Ghatasthapana, there are flowers. Traditionally, on the first week of Dashain, on this day, people of the Magar caste travel on foot to Tudikhel in the valley by tying the stem of Kalash banana with sugarcane and red cloth. 

The presence of government officials to the Prime Minister can be seen for the reception. The Nepali army has been following the tradition of taking them to the royal palace of Hanumandhoka by showing them some talent and honoring them with flowers.

Eighth day महाअष्टमी :-

Maha Ashtami is celebrated on the eve of Phulpati. On this day, the tradition of offering sacrifice to Navadurga is practiced in temples all over the country. 

Navadurga is appeased by sacrificing buffaloes, goats, ducks, etc.After the sacrifice, the blood is offered to God and the remaining part is taken home as prasad by the devotees and cooked and eaten. It is considered auspicious to eat this food. This day is also called black night. Ninth Day - Navami :-.

The ninth day of Dashain is called Mahanavami. This is the last day of Navratri. In addition, Nava durga is worshiped by making nine flour sticks on the wall where Jamra is kept.On this day, there has been a tradition of offering military sacrifices in front of Hanumandhoka's royal palace. 

After saluting the gun, the king used to sacrifice a buffalo. Goddess Durga is worshiped on the day of Maha navami with the belief that she will keep all the things that help in the prosperity of life happy. Defeated demons try to save themselves by hiding in the bodies of birds on this day, so this day is also known as demon hunting day. 

On this day, along with worshiping the vehicle, the objects in the house are also worshiped. It is believed that by doing this, all the vehicles from motorcycles to trucks are worshiped on this day. On this day, the famous Taleju temple of Devi is opened only on this day, so on this day, you can see a huge crowd of devotees.

Tenth Day. Vijaya Dashami: -

Dashain day is Vijaya Dashami. Usually, the day of Dashain is different every year. On this day, in the best weather, Jamara and Rato tika, which are scattered in Ghatasthaphana, are worn on the forehead and given blessings of Navadurga and some fruits along with Dakshina. This work continues from this day for five days.

 Also, relatives come to meet relatives to make tika on this day. This festival is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm.
